The rectangular top with rounded edges above a conforming case housing two upper drawers and three larger drawers (all with working locks), the walnut surface with faded paintings of Portuguese tiles depicting such subjects as animals, sculpture, and rural scenes, raised on a plinth-form base, circa 1800.
