Impressive Neopolitan Walnut and Fruitwood Armadio

Between 1830 and 1850
wonderfully constructed of walnut and fruitwood, the armadio is an amazing example of the craftsmanship of Naples, Italy that carried on well into the 19th century. each of the eight pieces fitting together with large pegs, the fruitwood paneled doors opening wide to reveal a finished fruitwood interior, the molded cornice having circular capitals over triple half columns that extend to the feet, the main body having raised fruitwood panels on the door fronts as well as the sides, resting on a two drawer base and ending in capitals atop flattened bun feet, with four carved walnut escutcheons on the door and drawer, with three working and keyed locks, the back with paper label with an inscription
