with overhanging cornice carved to resemble the top of curtains or window treatments, the frame previously housing lace within the hooded upper section put in place to protect the original painting from flies. When the painting was on view the lace was tied back and conversely closed when not being viewed, original fabric tiebacks remain, with later 1/4"antique mirrorplate, Condition: very good condition with no known structural problems, with later corner braces to support the weight of the antique mirrorplate
