having a large one board rectangular top above lyre shaped trestle supports composed of s and c-scrolls with upturned feet, the stretcher a joining of two large s-scrolls, one side replaced, with later bracing, formerly with an iron stretcher, the top flattened through the use of parallel cuts to the bottom. We debated on the origin of this table (Spanish or Italian) but in the end concluded, based on the whimsical nature of the legs and stretcher, that it is Italian.
